House of Sky and Breath

Crescent City #2
House of Sky and Breath (2022)

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to find something like normal life after everything that happened in House of Earth and Blood, but House of Sky and Breath makes clear almost immediately that peace is not going to last. What begins as an attempt to slow down and figure out a future together is interrupted by larger forces closing in around them, and the novel builds from that uneasy pause into a story of rebellion, danger, and growing pressure inside a world already close to breaking.

As the second Crescent City novel, it keeps the series’ mix of urban fantasy, romance, and high-stakes conflict, but with a broader sense of unrest moving through the background. Bryce remains at the center, still sharp, emotionally driven, and unwilling to look away from what matters to her, while Hunt is drawn deeper into choices that carry both political and personal risk. Readers can expect a more expansive and more volatile sequel, with love, secrecy, and resistance all tightening together as the world around them grows harder to contain.
